A really wonderful quiet green space...a pleasant stroll from the noisy bustling Victorian lido...with its fifty metre swimming pool and boisterous laughter of happy people...the River Chelt, rolls and windes its way tumbling over weirs and falls...its a tranquil place to sit and reflect..and enjoy the autumn leaves or the dapled sunshine..
Nice place, generally always clean and well maintained. I personally love eating lunch or a picnic here as its just a few minutes walk from the nearest food stores. Good place for kids too.
Stunning park to chill for any occasion. Sit by the pond, stroll about. Can be busy at times and would benefit from a little coffee shop like Pitville and Montpellier.
Sandford Park is a lovely quiet place close to the town centre. You can usually find a little spot to eat your lunch without too much bother. There is the Italian garden and a community garden where you can volunteer and get some free veggies. Close by there is the Sandford Park Ale House if you fancy a pint or a bite to eat.
The park has two distinct areas. The formal garden is closer to the centre of town and is kept beautifully, with fountain, sculpture and a wide variety of flowers shrubs and trees. Dogs are allowed on leads here. Across the road your dog can run, chase ball etc in the large grassed area. Here you will find a cafe with outdoor seating, the entrance to the enclosed children's play area and the recently laid boules court. If you don't happen to have boules with you the cafe will lend some - deposit required.
