Love Montpellier gardens!! Great for the kids and chilling with a picnic
A wide open piece of grass, often filled with families in the summer, with a handy cafe and art gallery, as well as a play area for young kids and a skate ramp and climbing blocks for older ones. The hard tennis courts are popular too.
I was visiting the Gardens Gallery where a new exhibition had just opened. A small group of local artists were showing their work.The gardens themselves form a small but very pleasant park at the southern end of the town. They offer a number of facilities to visitors; a small skate park; a couple of small cafes; tennis courts; a bandstand; and, the gallery - which is open from 9:00am to 5:00pm most days.
Beautiful park - perhaps more functional than pure beauty but acts as a real focal point for so many excellent events in Cheltenham including the Jazz and Food & drink festivals. Always in regular use, great for families whether knocking a ball around or having a picnic. There is a cafe and a lovely restaurant. There are also public tennis courts that can be booked for a very affordable fee.
