Very pleasant afternoon tea, service a lot better than the last time I visited.
Unfortunately my visit to Valerie's patisserie is marred by the rudeness of the staff working that day. I appreciate that they were short staffed, BUT when you are politely asked (when you have time) to possibly clear the table, and you do not verbally respond, but actually pull faces at me, in my mind is the height of bad manners.After sitting at our table for nearly half an hour, we are waited on, as you are no longer serving customers at the till, and turning people away. On the positive note our cake was delicious.My friends and I will certainly not return.
Bad service, good cakes and drinks.Four staff were running the whole shop, we ordered 3 drinks and 3 cakes which took around half an hour to arrive. They forgot two of our cakes and got one of the drinks wrong. Staff weren't very attentive and the till staff didn't seem to know how to operate the till (they might have been new, this wasn't a big problem).However the cakes were great and drinks good too. Great selection of items for cakes, all day breakfast and lunch items.Pricey though. Afternoon tea for 2 is 25. We spent 20 on tea and cake for three people. Lunches and breakfasts are 10 each.
Had a beautiful afternoon tea here today! The food was amazing - beautifully presented and lovely and fresh, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming! Would definitely recommend a visit - I'll certainly be back!
Will not be visiting again. Apples for the apple tart hadn't been cored, so it was full of unpleasant sharp bits. Served me the wrong tea, then argued that it wasn't wrong. Wouldn't give me some warm water to warm my baby's bottle. There are so many better places to visit in Cheltenham!
