All the arrangements for my surgery went like clockwork-thanks to all the staff who contributed to a very successful outcome
In January I had a fall and fractured a vertebra. Nature failed to heal the damage and in June, Mr Shah a consultant orthopaedic surgeon, advised me that surgery was the only solution. He performed the operation at the Nuffield in Cheltenham. It was a great success and the crippling pain which I had endured for many months was gone. Throughout he gave me every confidence and explained the procedure in great detail. I am grateful that, through his skill and expertise, I can now enjoy life once again. The hospital met all my expectations. Everyone concerned was supportive and professional. Nothing was too much trouble. Surgery is always a cause for anxiety, but the quality of care which I received was excellent and I knew I was in good hands.With grateful thanks,Trudy Callender

The staff that actually helped me with my procedure were truly amazing. Very compassionate, patient and a credit to the profession BUT the clerical/ reception staff were abrupt, disorganised and let the hospital down.I had insurance and gave them the details by phone and in person. I was then sent the bill both times. The second time they took payment from my account even though the insurance had PAID. This caused me to cancel my card in the middle of the night (thinking my details had fallen into the wrong hands !!!). Now I have to wait until it is returned next week. If you do use this hospital check and double check and dont assume anything. Its not what you need when you are dealing with health issues and I will avoid using this hospital again because of this.
Unfortunately I have become quite a regular at Cheltenham Nuffield and I cannot fault it. Reception, outpatient care, rooms, nurses and doctors have always been of the highest standard. I have also experienced The Manor Nuffield as an inpatient- but give me Cheltenham every time.
