Interesting eclectic range of exhibits including a section on Edward Wilson, Antarctic explorer. Well worth a visit with free admission and a nice Cafe.
Loved this museum very interesting exhibited I loved the room with all the WW1 things in went with a group of 8 and 9 year olds who enjoyed there time there very much.
Local museum with great Arctic and Antarctic materials and the best (the best!) arts and Crafts furniture collection on FREE public display - it's a must see.
A wonderful place to visit....too much to see in one day. There are child friendly areas here...in fact we stopped and had 'tea and cake' with a little poppet the day we visited. Wheelchair access and a lift. At the moment there is a special exhibition on Shackleton and his journey to the pole. The Wilson was built in memory of Wilson who died in the ill fated expedition with Oates.
Many, many galleries and museums but this was really good. Fresh, mixed exhibits, engaging narratives and not too big. Something for everyone.
